winston transport
Updated 1 October 2026 · BugsRadar team
A transport from the bugsradar package, next to the transports you already have: entries at error and above go to your channels, with the Error object as the exception and the other fields as properties.
Install the package and create the client first: see Install and Create the client. The API key is secret: where it may go.
Add the transport
import winston from 'winston';
import { BugsRadarTransport } from 'bugsradar/winston';
import { bugsRadar } from './bugsradar.js';
export const logger = winston.createLogger({
transports: [
new winston.transports.Console(),
new BugsRadarTransport({ client: bugsRadar, level: 'error' }),
],
});
logger.error('Order failed', { orderId, error });
What arrives
The transport takes error and above. An Error in the error or err field travels as the exception, with its stack; the other fields become the event's properties.
The same Error object seen by Express and by winston is sent once: see How events travel. What the message looks like in the chat: What you receive.
