Serilog sink

Updated 1 October 2026 · BugsRadar team

The BugsRadar.Serilog package adds a sink: events at Error and above go to your channels with their message template and properties. It brings BugsRadar with it, so the ILogger provider and direct calls are there too.

You need a BugsRadar project with a channel and the project's API key first: see Get started. The key is secret: where it may go.

Install

Terminal
dotnet add package BugsRadar.Serilog

Serilog configured before the host exists

Program.cs
using BugsRadar.Extensions.Serilog;

Log.Logger = new LoggerConfiguration()
    .WriteTo.BugsRadar("<your project API key>")
    .CreateLogger();

Serilog with dependency injection

Sharing the client registered with AddBugsRadar (see Register the client):

Program.cs
builder.Host.UseSerilog((context, services, configuration) => configuration
    .WriteTo.BugsRadar(services));

Levels and diagnostics

The sink takes Error and above by default (restrictedToMinimumLevel). When the sink owns the client (the form without dependency injection), delivery problems are written to Serilog's SelfLog: turn it on with SelfLog.Enable(Console.Error).

What the message looks like in the chat, how repeats are counted and when errors are bundled: see What you receive.

Already on Seq?

Can't add a package, or already on Seq? Serilog.Sinks.Seq can send to BugsRadar as well: see CLEF and Seq clients.
