Pushover error alerts for .NET, Node.js and Python apps

Every new error of your application arrives as a push notification on your phone or desktop, through your own Pushover application, for one person or a whole delivery group: the first occurrence at once, then short summaries of the repeats.

Free plan · your own Pushover application · your events are never stored

What arrives

A Pushover message is a short push notification: the project name and the level, the exception and its message, where it happened, the environment, host, version and time, and the event's properties. The stack trace stays out: a notification is not the place to read it.

What you receive, in detail →

What you need

An application token

On the Pushover dashboard: Create an Application/API Token. BugsRadar sends through it.

A user key or a group key

Your user key is on the dashboard. To notify several people, create a delivery group and use its key instead.

Checked, encrypted, masked

BugsRadar checks the token and the key with Pushover before saving, stores them encrypted and shows only a mask afterwards. Send test sends a test notification.

The steps, in order: Set up Pushover.

From any platform

The channel is chosen in the web app, not in the code: the same package, the same call, whatever the chat.

When something changes

The application stays yours; BugsRadar only tells you when it stops working.

Questions developers ask

Why summaries instead of a live count?

Pushover can't edit a notification once it is delivered, so the count of repeats arrives as a short summary at the same moments as the live count in Telegram and Discord: 10 minutes after the first message, then after 30 minutes, an hour, and every 6 hours.

Can my whole team get the notifications?

Yes. Create a delivery group in Pushover and use the group key instead of your user key; everyone in the group receives every notification.

Does the notification include the stack trace?

No. A Pushover message is short and comes without the stack trace. For the full message with the stack, add Telegram or Discord as another channel of the same project.

Can several projects share one channel?

Yes. One channel can serve several projects, and a project can have several channels: the Free plan includes 2 projects and 3 channels, Pro has no limit.

Does BugsRadar store my errors?

No. An event stays in memory only until it is delivered to your channels; nothing is written to a database. BugsRadar keeps only what it needs to run: your email, your projects and the encrypted settings of your channels.
