BugsRadar

Slack

Updated 11 October 2026 · BugsRadar team

Alerts are posted into a Slack channel through an Incoming Webhook of your own Slack app. You provide the webhook URL. Slack comes with the Business plan.

Steps

  1. Open api.slack.com/apps, press Create New App, choose From scratch, name the app (say, BugsRadar) and pick your workspace.
  2. In the app's settings open Incoming Webhooks and turn Activate Incoming Webhooks on.
  3. Press Add New Webhook to Workspace, pick the channel that should receive the errors and allow it. A private channel works too when you are its member.
  4. Copy the Webhook URL: it starts with https://hooks.slack.com/services/. Keep it secret: whoever has it can post to the channel.
  5. In BugsRadar, add a Slack channel and paste the URL.

Test it

BugsRadar posts a short message to the channel to check the webhook before saving. Press Send test: a test message arrives within seconds. The first real error arrives in full, with a colored bar by level and the stack trace in a code block; repeats arrive as summaries, since a webhook can't edit a message: see What you receive.

Changing the channel

Credentials can't be edited: to post into another channel, add a webhook for it in the Slack app, add a new Slack channel in BugsRadar with that URL and delete the old one. If the webhook is deleted or the app is removed, BugsRadar turns the channel off and shows the reason: see When a channel fails.
